My Thesis Year
These are all self portraits, They are visual
metaphors portraying aspects of me.I found it
difficult to find the right format, to portray my challenges, should I layer
several images creating a narrative, add text. I decided that my challenges are
present no matter what I do. Just the act of “me” producing these images adds
the layer I was trying to capture visually. There for there is no reason to
make a visual narration.
There is a lot of
darkness surrounding the image. To me it speaks of my comfort level. There is
isolation. With uniqueness comes isolation. It is great to be the only kabillionare in Canada, it is great to be Santa Claus, yet
with these unique features, there is isolation, no matter how green other
people think “your” grass is. You and only you know what you feel like to be
something people surrounding you are not.
